Swiss–Armenian partnership in pediatric rehabilitation

Since 2014, a Swiss interdisciplinary pediatric rehabilitation team, supported by the Verein Medizinische Hilfe für Kinder und Jugendliche in Armenien, has been working closely with multidisciplinary pediatric rehabilitation teams in Armenia, including colleagues from ArBeS, Arabkir and Kharberd.

Through regular visits to Armenia, intensive rehabilitation weeks, practical workshops, theoretical exchange and clinical case discussions, we learn and grow together.

Our focus is on strengthening pediatric neurorehabilitation through interdisciplinary collaboration, practical skills and shared knowledge — always with the child and family at the center.

Our vision

We believe that sustainable rehabilitation grows through people, relationships and practice. By learning together, we strengthen not only individual professional skills, but also the teams and structures that provide care for children and families.

The partnership is built on long-term relationships, mutual respect and the belief that sustainable progress comes from learning together and putting knowledge into practice.

Post Graduate Pediatric Physiotherapy Program

This Pediatric Physiotherapy Course grew out of years of close collaboration between Swiss and Armenian rehabilitation teams — working side by side with children and families, sharing knowledge across borders.

That partnership lead to a 10-month, part-time program dedicated to the physiotherapeutic care of children with disability. It combines rigorous clinical training — classification systems, developmental assessment, hands-on treatment — with the patience and clinical intuition that only come from real experience with children and their families.

Through supervised practice, small-group mentorship, video analysis, and an intensive practical week, students learn to turn theory into meaningful, everyday change.

This is more than a training program. It’s a partnership in motion, built on a simple conviction: that expertise, when shared across borders, changes lives — one child, one family, at a time.
